THE SCIENCE of How pleasure positively affects neural wiring

THE SCIENCE of how pleasure affects neural wiring conditioning you to feel good in mind & body 🌹

It's funny I remember back when I was much younger, in my 20's I use to think of myself as a "bedroom philosopher"

Now isn't that apt in regard to how things have worked out for me?

As well as a healer, a mother, a sister and an advocate for the Divine Feminine awakening, I am also a writer and a philosopher

I am a seeker of truth and I look deeper into things, I look under the surface. I am interested in the hows the whys and the inner workings. The broader effects, the wider meanings.

The core, the essence, the juice. I live for that shit.

So with that, please read on for THE SCIENCE of how pleasure affects neural wiring...

Because I want to know how and why my work truly matters for collective wellbeing in this time of great change...

Pleasure and orgasm literally rewire the brain to feel good—by strengthening neural pathways associated with joy, safety, connection, and reward. This is neuroplasticity in action: the brain learns through experience. Here’s how it works:

Pleasure activates the Brain’s Reward Circuit

Key areas involved:

• Ventral tegmental area (VTA)

• Nucleus accumbens

• Prefrontal cortex

Effect: These areas light up during pleasure and orgasm, releasing dopamine, the “feel-good” and motivation chemical.

Long-term result: Over time, pleasurable experiences strengthen these neural circuits, making your brain more primed for joy.

Pleasure creates Positive Feedback Loops

• The more you experience pleasure, the more your brain:

• Seeks it out again

• Recognises it as safe and rewarding

• Builds associations between pleasure and trust, connection, self-worth, or intimacy (depending on the context)

Pleasure counters Trauma & Pain Pathways

• Chronic stress, trauma, or lack of pleasure can wire the brain for:

• Hypervigilance

• Shame

• Numbness or disconnection

• Pleasure and orgasm can disrupt those old neural patterns and begin to lay down new ones rooted in:

• Feeling safe in the body

• Experiencing joy without fear

• Reclaiming sensuality or sexual sovereignty

Pleasure strengthens Emotional Resilience

• Orgasm boosts oxytocin, which:

• Increases feelings of trust and bonding

• Reduces anxiety

• Enhances emotional regulation

• Over time, these effects rewire the limbic system (emotional brain) to experience more safety and less reactivity.

Pleasure anchors Joy in the Nervous System

• Each time you fully feel pleasure, you teach your nervous system:

• It’s safe to feel good

• It’s possible to return to calm after activation

• This strengthens your window of tolerance, your capacity to hold both sensation and emotion without overwhelm

Pleasure re-patterns Beliefs Through the Body

• Orgasm is a full-body neurological event.

• When paired with intention (e.g., healing, love, empowerment), it creates embodied affirmations that sink deeper than mental ones.

• E.g. “I am worthy of joy.” → not just an idea, but a felt truth.

🌱 In Summary:

Pleasure and orgasm rewire the brain by:

• Reinforcing reward and joy pathways

• Calming trauma-based circuitry

• Increasing resilience and emotional capacity

• Teaching the body-mind it’s safe—and beautiful—to feel good
